Spring will be here soon...

Spring still doesn't look like this where I live, but every day there is less snow on the ground.

Mostly where it is melted, it is brown and muddy but I still hold out hope for when I see some colorful beauty like this.

I must have taken this photo about 9 years ago because this tree has been gone for a very long time.

Since St. Patrick's Day is this week, I had to include these green and happy clovers.  

I don't see one with 4 leaves in this little patch....

Last fall I found  2 or 3 of them so I saved them.

Doesn't that green look so lovely?  

Those of us in my neck of the woods have not seen it for a long time.

It will still be a while until I smell the sweet smell of lavender...

A girl can dream, can't she?

Changing Metal Finishes

I always buy metal bangles when they are dirt cheap.

Last summer I played around and discovered some fantastic new patinas for these pieces.

They started like this...

And ended up looking like this....

I realize this look is not for everyone.

But I love it!

Once I get the look just right, I seal it with wax and give it a good buffing.

These  make me smile....

I tried it on necklaces as well.

They get a great new look...

Actually an old look.

Grinch Face Mug

Time for Craft Lightning again.

This time around is Seuss Crafts in 15 minutes or less.

That is right up my alley.

I love Dr. Seuss.

I went with a Grinch mug.

I got this green mug at the thrift store.

It is perfect for this project.

I used Sharpie markers.

I got my basic drawing instructions here with this video.

Let me show you step-by-step how to draw the Grinch face.

Then I colored my pupils gold for a more evil look.

You can leave them black, uncolored or red.

Ready to go...

Once it is done you can bake it to try to make it more permanent.

  I did not bake this one. 

 I will just hand wash it.
