Workbench Wednesday...Getting Ready For An Art Abandonment...

It has been some time since I showed you what was on the workbench.

It seems something always is...I just don't always take a picture.

Here is what is going on this week...

These charms and beads are on their way to becoming something extra special...

The beads will be turned into bracelets that will be given as gifts...

There are some people I need to thank and art seems like the natural way for me to do it...

Each bracelet will have a hope bead as well as a few others...

I want to make enough that each person can choose the one they like best...

Of course the beads will have to be dyed...

I am thinking pink, blue, purple....

And then I made a pile of these little charms and beads.

My plan is to do a couple different bracelet designs...

And the charms???

Well, they have a special purpose...

They are destined to be a part of my next art abandonment...

What is that, you ask?

Well, there is a movement in art where artists take the things they make and leave them for others to find and take.

All these little charms will be sprinkled about next week in a place where I know they are needed....

The funny part of this story is that after taking these photos, I took the tray of pieces into my garage where I was going to color them....

The whole try flipped over and the beads and pendants scattered down into a huge pile of paint cans and such next to the sink.

Sigh.

I gathered the ones I could see, but I will be making more soon....

Spring will be here soon...

Spring still doesn't look like this where I live, but every day there is less snow on the ground.

Mostly where it is melted, it is brown and muddy but I still hold out hope for when I see some colorful beauty like this.

I must have taken this photo about 9 years ago because this tree has been gone for a very long time.

Since St. Patrick's Day is this week, I had to include these green and happy clovers.  

I don't see one with 4 leaves in this little patch....

Last fall I found  2 or 3 of them so I saved them.

Doesn't that green look so lovely?  

Those of us in my neck of the woods have not seen it for a long time.

It will still be a while until I smell the sweet smell of lavender...

A girl can dream, can't she?

Ok...So I am Cheating....

As most of us in the East know...there has been very little green lately.

Lots of white and ice.

But lately, I hear the birds singing in the morning.

I hear the water dripping as it melts.

I can smell and feel spring even though over a foot of snow remains in most of my yard.

So I am sharing a few old spring pictures just to let you know....

It IS coming.

Fast and Easy Gratitude Cards

A couple of years ago, I found these great word rubber stamps in the Dollar Bins at Michael's.

They are my most-used stampers.

Today I used them to make two quick cards.

  I always use StazOn ink.

I stamp each word on a little piece of card stock.

Then I glue each one on a slightly larger piece of cardstock to mat it.

Then I just use pop dots to add them to the card.

A couple rhinestones finish them off.

You can add whatever sentiments you like.

I made a whole pile of these in an hour.
