Bohemian Convertible Necklace Bracelet Set

Last year  Jewelry Stringing magazine  did a feature on convertible jewelry.

That is not jewelry you wear with your top down.

Instead it was jewelry that has interchangeable parts.

I was fascinated.

So I had to make something of my own like that.

So here are the three pieces.

All three can be worn together for a layered necklace.

Or you can take one of the colorful pieces off.

Or switch to the other one.

The back part of the necklace can be worn as a wrap bracelet alone.

Or you can stack on one of the other colorful ones.

Or both.

Or just wear the two colorful pieces together as bracelets.

Or each one can be worn alone.

Since I used all my hand made clasps, all the pieces work together and can be added as you choose.

I love this idea and will surely be creating more designs with this versatility....

Leather and Polymer Clay Cuffs

The last couple months have been filled with lots of unexpected adventures.

I am still creating but much of it has been for specific projects that I can't share yet.

Today I wanted to share a few pieces that have been on my workbench.

These wrap braclets incorporate leather, silk and my own polymer beads.

I really love this cuff bracelet.

Very bohemian.

Although it does require a friend to help put it on.

It has a wider leather base and then the silk and leather cord wrap around it to secure it.

This one has a thinner leather base, but it wraps around a few more times.

The silk is woven through the leather.

And the clay nest serves as both a focal and an essential part of the clasp.

What is on your workbench?

Triple Strand Bracelets

What is a good day like for you?

A good day for me is making something...

A friend, a good dinner, or something beautiful.

I have a lot of good days.

I have a lot of amazing people that I call friends, a few good meals here and there, and I make A LOT of stuff.

Here are a couple triple stand bracelets.

Today's material of choice is buttons.

Buttons and waxed linen cord.

If you have been here before, you know I love that stuff.

There is something so relaxing and satisfying to me to string and knot with waxed linen.

This bracelet has vintage buttons, pearls and these fun blue beads.

I love that little turtle charm dangle too.

I love multi strand bracelets for the look and the ease to wear.

They look like you took time to gather and assemble the pieces and put them on, but nope!

One simple hook clasp and you are ready to go.

Scarlet

One color I almost never use exclusively in designs is red.

I am not sure why.

I love red.

Red cars, red accents, red birds...

This necklace and bracelet set uses scarlet beads and wood beads with leather.

Oh, and a tiny bit of bling.

It is also a fun way to play with knotting and design.

The necklace is strung on waxed linen cord first.

The leather cord is added as a design element afterwards.

My handmade wire components are perfect for this design.

I like the wooden beads too.

I guess I just love natural components.

I made a little triple strand bracelet to go with it.

It is also strung on waxed linen thread first and then the leather cord elements are added.

One challenge I always face when making jewelry is to make it smaller.

I have large wrists, so to fit me it needs to be big.

For most everyone else, I have to make it too small for me.

This one is like that.

Too small for me.

Perfect for someone  else.
